Antique Flow Blue Ironstone Gravy Boat & Underplate - WH Grindley "Lorne"

A stunning antique English ironstone gravy boat with underplate set dating to the turn of the 20th century. The gravy boat and underplate (or relish dish) are each stamped on the bottom 'W.H. Grindley Lorne', and the stamp design indicates a manufacture date of 1891-1914.

The design features intricate floral vines and blossoms in bright cobalt blue, and the edge has a raised dot and floral pattern. It is difficult to find this collectible pattern in such excellent condition.

FLAWS - There is one small chip at the base of the gravy boat. There is also a small glaze defect on the side of the gravy boat, perhaps where the side touched another dish during the glazing process. There is light crazing and scratches appropriate to its age.

DIMENSIONS: The gravy boat measures 4" high x 8" long from spout to handle and 3.5" deep. The underplate measures 1" high x 9" long x 5" deep.
