Antique Ironstone 16" Platter - W. H. Grindley, England "Sharon", c1920

A beautiful piece perfect for serving up sandwiches at afternoon tea, desserts, or as a decor piece in your cottage style home.

This lovely large English Ironstone platter is in the Sharon pattern by W.H. Grindley and is rimmed with gold leaf that has some wearing off (see photos). It is interlaced with a floral rose pattern. The platter is stamped on bottom with 'W. H. Grindley & Co. England' and embossed with '54' and 'Sharon'.

Based on the stamp, its estimated date of production is 1914-1925. No chips or cracks noted. This is a lovely heirloom piece that was found in an estate from a couple that immigrated from Ireland to America in the mid 20th century. The maker's stamp dates this collectible ironstone to 1914-1925.
