Antique Splint Wood Gathering Basket | Rustic Farmhouse Decor

This is an incredible, extra large splint wood basket with curved handle, perfect for simple farmhouse storage and decor.

It has a unique metal reinforcement bar that runs through the middle of the basket, making it extra sturdy. It is attached to the handle with metal rivets and screws. The top edge of the basket is secured with nails - check out the pointe detail of the wood.

This woven basket does have some staining and mottling, appropriate to its age, as well as some broken areas of wood that remain stable and do not affect the integrity of the basket itself.

As you can see in the styled shots, this would be lovely as part of a fireplace vignette with books stacked inside, flowers, or linen storage. A wood basket is a staple of primitive American decor.
