AGE
On the back of one corner, a family history label has been carefully cross stitched with the names and dates of the woman who made the quilt, the family she made it for, and the granddaughter who made the label. US Census data shows that the maker, Kate Neal Herring Gill, lived in Bradley, Arkansas in 1940. The quilt resurfaced in the Overland Park, KS area after the passing of her granddaughter, Gayanne Gill Ferguson, in 2023.
