Vintage Red and Yellow Lone Star Unfinished Quilt TOP - 87" x 75"

An amazing hand pieced unfinished quilt top, ready for your next project! This is the top of a quilt only - there is no batting or backing, and it has not been quilted.

This is made in the popular Lone Star pattern. It has hundreds of small hand pieced cotton patches in autumnal tones of red, yellow, peach, and brown, set in white cotton blocks. The main lone star is surrounded by a border of complimentary half stars on all four sides. The colors are just gorgeous! It would make a beautiful quilt top dress or finished as a quilt.

MATERIALS - Cotton solid colored patches. Hand pieced with white thread.

AGE - Unknown; based on fabrics used and quality, estimated to be circa 1930.

CONDITION - There are brownish-orange storage stains on the white alternate blocks. I do not wash my tops prior to selling. This top has been aired out in the sun, face down, to eliminate storage odors and to lighten some of the stains. I recommend soaking this after quilting or prior to making clothes with it.
