Set of eight purple hardback books with gold lettering and detail on the spine, in excellent vintage condition. These are part of the Harvard Classics Five-Foot Shelf of Books series, published in 1959 (52nd printing).

This set includes volumes 31-38, which are as follows:

• Volume 31 - Autobiography by Benvenuto Cellini
• Volume 32 - Literary and Philosophical Essays by Montaigne, Sainte Beuve, Renan, Etc.
• Volume 33 - Voyages and Travels
• Volume 34 - French and English Philosophers Descartes, Voltaire, Rousseau, and Hobbes
• Volume 35 - Chronicle and Romance by Froissary, Malory, and Holinshed
• Volume 36 - Machiavelli, More, and Luther
• Volume 37 - Locke, Berkeley, and Hume
• Volume 38 - Harvey, Jenner, Lister and Pasteur

In excellent vintage condition, with light wear to spines and covers, minimal sun fading. Binding remains tight.
