Antique 1920s Red and White Honeybee Quilt

Available is a beautiful two-tone quilt in a hard-to-find pattern. Its generous size makes it perfect for the farmhouse-inspired bedroom.

MATERIALS 

The quilt is made in the Honey Bee pattern, with a central square and four groups of three petals extending from each corner. Set in white fabric, it has dense hand quilting in white thread throughout in a variety of patterns: feathered vines in the border, feather wreaths with central flowers in the alternate blocks, and grid quilting across the squares and setting fabric. The petals are machine appliqued; the square is pieced. White binding. White backing. Lightweight cotton fabric.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. A few areas of seam separation on the appliqued petals. Several areas of light discoloration and staining with underlying fabric thinning. Pen mark on the back near border. Two small holes in quilt top. See all photos. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

Exact age unknown. Based on fabrics and techniques used, estimated c1920. Found in Kansas.
