Available is an amazing antique ironstone footed soup tureen with lid. It has a backstamp that reads 'Royal Patent Ironstone, Burgess and Goddard' with the royal warrant stamp. Burgess and Goddard produced ironstone 1850-1890, making the latest production date possible for this piece in 1890.
The tureen has a lid. The handles have a double loop design, with bowknots and rope tassles onto the body of the tureen.
Overall good antique condition. The lid has two chips with staining along the edge; one chip is under glaze, indicating a manufacturing flaw. There is staining and some wear along both handles the rim of the opening and the lid. The glazing pits on the interior bottom of the tureen have staining. Crazing noted especially on the lid.
DIMENSIONS - 12" long by 7" wide by 6" high to top of lid; weighs 3 lb. 10 oz. This item will be double boxed.
