Vintage Ocean Wave Variation Quilt TOP

Available is a stunning Ocean Wave variation quilt top with a wide range of fabrics and prints, all hand pieced and in excellent condition. This is the perfect top for the antique textile enthusiast to study.

MATERIALS

Quilt top is in an Ocean Wave variation, with small scale white setting blocks set with triangles. It can also be seen as a block of pinwheel next to square in a square. Triangles are 1.5" x 2". The fabrics are a wide range of printed cottons, from late 19th century through the 1930s. Hand pieced with white thread.

Note this is an unfinished quilt TOP, without backing, batting or binding.

CONDITION

Very good condition. One block found with seam separation. Some evidence of dye transfer on a few of the white setting blocks from neighboring fabrics. If you choose to wash this top, proceed with caution. Very light storage toning to white fabrics. I have not washed this top and it does not appear to have been washed in the past.

AGE

Wide range of fabric ages; however, based on latest fabrics used, estimated date of production is c1930. Found in Missouri. Maker unknown.
