Antique Red White and Blue Ocean Waves Quilt, c1920

Wonderful unique antique quilt in "Stars and Stripes" colorway in a desirable pattern.

MATERIALS

The quilt is in the Ocean Waves pattern. The unique fabric choices make this the perfect patriotic quilt - using red and white pieced triangles set against the dark indigo blue calico with tiny stars, imitating the American flag. Hand quilted white thread in hanging diamond grids. Lightweight thin cotton batting. Bound in matching indigo fabric. White backing.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. Washed by previous owner. One small hole through the quilt. Some light fading of fabrics; batting is thinned. Otherwise no major damage.  Please review all photos.

Exact age unknown. Likely circa 1920 based on fabrics and batting used. From a private collection in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Measures 73" x 61".
