Antique Schweppes Glass Blob Top Torpedo Bottle

Available is an antique "torpedo bottle" (named for its shape) produced by Schweppes in the late 19th century.

Torpedo bottles were invented for storing carbonated beverages. They were meant to be stored on their side, so that the cork did not try out and allow the carbonation to escape.

This bottle has an attractive design with large lettering, reading "Schweppes" on one side. Some wear noted to lettering. Blob top opening. Excellent condition.

DIMENSIONS - 7.5" long; weighs 11 oz.
