Antique Turkey Tracks Quilt in Turkey Red and Tan, c1880

Available is a warm neutral quilt in antique fabrics that displays beautifully despite wear and tear.

MATERIALS 

The quilt is in the Turkey Tracks pattern, in Turkey red and tan (that could have potentially been a fugitive green that faded out). It is set in white fabric. It has tight elbow fan hand quilting throughout the body of the quilt, with alternating double and triple bar quilting in the border and an attractive sunray pattern in the corners. Medium weight cotton batting. White muslin backing. Bound in matching red fabric, with red and white solid borders.

CONDITION

Fair antique condition. Several areas of fabric thinning and exposed batting, light staining visible in the front and back. Small holes near the edges and in one corner, with a hole through the quilt. Tanning along top border. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

Exact age unknown; estimated date based on fabrics and construction is c1880. Found in Kansas.
