A classic vintage quilt pattern with the added bonus of a matching runner! This grandmother's flower garden quilt and runner were found in southeast Kansas in the estate of a collector. Each piece shows careful attention to detail and a love for beauty that make this a family heirloom to cherish for years to come.

Please note these items are sold together as a set.

The quilt and runner are both constructed of cotton fabrics in a mix of solid and patterned colors. The setting blocks are a mix of dark tan, light tan and emerald green hexagons. There is a border of darker tan around the edge of the quilt. The runner does not have any green hexagons but has a mix of printed fabrics.

Note the "fussy cut" details of the printed hexagons - florals, balloons, animals, and cutesy prints create a mosaic of color across the quilt.

The quilt and runner are both hand bound in matching emerald green fabric.

Each is hand quilted with white thread at 8 stitches per inch.

The backing of the quilt is a white ground with a lovely rose sprig and small blue shape. The backing of the runner is a densely printed blue paisley design.

Each piece has lightweight cotton batting.

The quilt has some overall toasting to the lighter fabrics. There is one flower with fabric thinning and a small slit in another tan hexagon. Binding is in good condition without fraying.

The runner is in good condition with no issues noted.

Both pieces have been carefully hand washed and air dried.

Exact age unknown. Based on fabrics and quilting techniques, estimated date is circa 1930s.

Note - both items are photographed on a king size bed.

The quilt measures 82" x 62".

The runner measures 89" x 23".
