A stunning vintage Lone Star quilt with an array of vibrant feedsack fabrics, set on a marigold yellow background. This is a wonderful quilt to hang for display or to brighten up a bedroom.

This quilt was also registered with the Kansas Quilt Project in 1986. According to documentation, at that time it was owned by Mary King of Erie, Kansas. I acquired it from the estate of a different quilt collector in Chanute, KS. Unfortunately the name of the maker was not recorded at the time, but it's a wonderful piece for the quilt historian to own.

An added bonus is a hanging sleeve attached to the back of the quilt for easy display.

The quilt is made in the Lone Star pattern. The large 8-pointed star is made of a rainbow of printed feed sack fabrics. It is set on a field of marigold yellow. It is hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch with white fabric. It has a double line diamond grid quilting pattern in the setting fabric and self quilting in the patchwork.

The binding is matching yellow fabric that is hand finished. The backing is solid white cotton. There is lightweight cotton batting. The Kansas Quilt Project tag is affixed to the back of one corner, with the registration number of Ja32. It is hand pieced.

Excellent vintage condition. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried. There is one set of feed sack fabrics that have bled a small amount of bright pink dye. This is most visible on the backing. On close inspection, you can see a small amount of dye run from the front as well. Visible pencil marks under the quilting lines.

Exact age unknown. Based on quilting techniques and fabrics used, estimate date is circa 1930s.

Measures 76" x 72" - a modern twin, or perfect size as an accent blanket.
