Vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt, c1940

Very scrappy classic quilt in a wide range of bright colors and patterns, this is a great quilt to cuddle with this spring.

MATERIALS

Quilt is constructed in classic Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern, with mostly tan setting fabric (with random blocks of white hexagons used), and printed hexagons in the setting fabrics, adding small blocks of color amongst the double layer flowers.

Center hexagons of yellow used throughout, with matching 'scrunchy' yellow binding hand finished. Densely hand quilted, with lightweight cotton batting. Binding follows the pattern of the hexagon in a slightly freeform edge. Backing is solid off white muslin.

CONDITION

Overall good vintage condition. A few marks on the backing. Colors remain bright. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried. Please review all photos.

Exact age and maker unknown. Estimated date of production c1940, based on fabrics used. Found in Kansas.
