An exceptional example of a classic vintage quilt pattern, this Dresden Plate quilt has the added bonus of the maker's initials and date embroidered into the corner. The expert quilting and beautiful fabrics make this a very special find.
MATERIALS
The quilt is constructed in the Dresden Plate pattern, with the 'plates' made of beautiful feed sack and dress fabrics in brightly colored prints. White setting fabric, adorned with feather wreaths and parallel grids quilted in white thread at 10-11 stitches per inch.
The ice cream cone border has additional hand quilted motifs, with the initials "A.J.W. 1933" hand embroidered in pink in one corner, making this quilt exactly 90 years old.
Backing is solid white fabric. Lightweight thin cotton batting. Hand bound in white fabric.
CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition. No holes or tears. Scattered areas of light discoloration on front and back; see photos. The quilt has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

Dated 1933; initials 'A.J.W.' Found in Kansas.

Measures 95" x 78".
