Vintage Blue and White Single Irish Chain Quilt, c1920

Classic color combination in a highly sought after pattern, this is the perfect addition for vintage farmhouse decor.

MATERIALS

The quilt is in the Single Irish Chain pattern, with patchwork of indigo blue resist calico set on shirting fabrics of tiny prints on white ground. Note the quirky center block that floats disconnected from the rest of the chains.

Border of blue fabric with matching binding. White backing. Hand quilted in hanging diamond grids in white thread. Lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. Washed by previous owner. Two large brown stains remain after washing. Otherwise no major damage. Please see photos.

AGE

Exact age unknown. Likely made circa 1920 based on fabrics used. Found in Missouri.

Measures 86" x 68".
