Vintage Blue Work Embroidery Quilt with Nursery Animals and Feedsack Fabric, c1930

Available is a charming quilt with blue work embroidery animals, perfect for a nursery or crafter's home.

MATERIALS

The quilt is made of 30 blocks of animals embroidered in dark blue thread on white fabric. The sashing and border is bright yellow. Lightweight cotton batting. Hand quilted in white thread in Baptist fan pattern. White backing. Bound in matching yellow fabric.

The yellow fabrics have several imprints of feed sack labels, including one across the top border of the quilt.

CONDITION

Fair vintage condition. There is a split in the backing across 75% of the quilt horizontally, with exposed batting, that has been partially repaired by hand. It would need to be completely repaired if this quilt were to be used on a bed. Otherwise it is in good condition for display. Historic patch also visible, with a few open areas with exposed batting in the front and old stains. Washed recently by previous owner.
