Vintage Creamsicle Orange and White Snowball Quilt, c1930

An expertly made quilt in cheerful creamsicle orange, this is a lovely quilt for every day use.

MATERIALS

The quilt is constructed in the Snowball pattern, with nine patch blocks touching corners with additional triangles, creating a visual appearance of 'snowballs' throughout. Expertly hand quilted at 9-10 stitches per inch in white thread - zig zag quilting over the triple sashing borders in orange and white; grid quilting over the blocks; and eight-petaled flowers over the alternate blocks.

Bound in white fabric. White cotton backing. Very lightweight thin cotton batting.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. There are several brown marks that did not come out with washing. Otherwise clean and intact. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

AGE

Exact date unknown. Based on fabric and technique, estimated date made is circa 1930. It came from a private quilt collection in Kansas City, MO.

Measures 79" x 63".
