Vintage Green and White "Nest and Fledgling" Quilt

Available is a lovely two-tone vintage quilt in white and green. It is the perfect color scheme for Christmas and spring decorating and in good usable condition.

MATERIALS

Quilt is made in the "Nest and Fledgling" pattern, also known as "Rolling Stone" (see Encyclopedia of Pieced Patterns by Brackman, #1806a). It is pieced with solid white and green fabrics. Note that in some patches, a different type of green fabric was used, leading to variations in the color. 

It is a mix of hand and machine piecing, with hand quilting in white thread. Bound in white fabric, with white backing. Lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Excellent vintage condition. A few scattered brown marks, with one block that has faded grey spots, perhaps ink blots. One small seam separation. Please see photos. It has been gently hand washed and air dried.

AGE

Estimated date of construction circa 1930. Maker unknown. Found in Missouri.

Measures 79" x 65".
