Vintage Green Trip Around the World Quilt, c1930

A bright and vibrant quilt with a huge variety of printed fabrics to enjoy and study.

MATERIALS

The quilt is constructed in the Trip Around the World pattern, with concentric rows radiating out from a center square. The fabrics are mostly 1930s printed cottons, with one row of early 20th century chrome yellow print. Emerald green sashing. Hand quilted in grid pattern with white thread, with small floral quilting in the sashing. Bound with green fabric. Solid white cotton backing. Medium weight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. There are several rows with color bleed showing to the back. Several marks and storage stains on the backing. Batting shift present. See photos. Otherwise clean and intact. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

AGE

Exact date unknown. Based on fabric and technique, estimated date made is circa 1930. It came from a private quilt collection in Kansas City, MO.

Measures 95" x 77".
