Vintage Mint Green Dove in the Window Quilt, c1930

A beautiful two-tone quilt in mint green and a well-executed geometric pattern.

MATERIALS

The quilt is constructed in the Dove in the Window pattern, with 9 full blocks of an 8-point star set in a diamond border. The bottom edge has three partial blocks. The fabrics are solid white and mint green. Hand quilted in white thread in echo quilting in the green fabrics and two intersecting ovals in the setting blocks.

Bound in slightly darker green fabric. Solid white backing. Lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. Scattered wear throughout binding and small open holes in setting fabric near top border. A few small brown marks that remained after washing. See photos. Otherwise clean and intact. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried.

AGE

Exact date unknown. Based on fabric and technique, estimated date made is circa 1930. It came from a private quilt collection in Kansas City, MO.

Measures 76" x 66".
