Vintage Mohawk Trail Pastel Quilt, c1930

This stunning quilt in pastels and cream is a collector's dream and one of my favorite recent finds.

MATERIALS

The quilt is constructed in the Mohawk Trail pattern - alternatively known as Baby Bunting. Each "wedge" has tiny patches, 1/2" across, set in curved edges. The double line quilting echoes the movement of the patchwork. The triple bar sashing has a nine patch block in each intersection. 

Off white setting fabric. Top and bottom have three rows of sashing. Hand bound in matching pink printed fabric. Backing is solid off white muslin. Medium weight cotton batting.

Double line quilting in white thread. 

CONDITION

Excellent vintage condition. A few scattered storage stains; see photos. The quilt has been carefully hand washed and air dried. 

AGE

Not dated. Estimated date of production circa 1930 based on fabrics used.

SIZE

Measures 79" x 67".
