Vintage Original Oil Painting of European Wharf Scene, c1930

Available is an unframed and unsigned but skillfully executed landscape of a European wharf scene. A group of small sail boats float in the water near the cobbled dock of terracotta-colored houses. Small groups of people work on the boats and near the water. The warm colors of turquoise, ochre and yellow make this a pleasing composition.

The oil painting is on thick canvas, secured to stretcher bars with old nails. While the painting style and canvas indicate an age of around 1930s, the stretcher was possibly re-used, as the wood and construction indicate 19th century origin. There is a small crack in the wood of the stretcher; see photos.

The painting is unsigned.

It is unframed, with no hanging wire attached, so the buyer can choose to have it framed or attach a wire for hanging.
