Vintage Rainbow Lone Star Quilt, c1930

Vibrant colors in a classic pattern make this quite the showstopper.

MATERIALS

The quilt is in the Lone Star Pattern, with a vibrating array of solid printed colors radiating from a red center. The edges of the 8-point star touch the edges of the quilt and are set in white fabric. Dense hand quilting in grid patterns with feather wreaths in the setting fabrics. Solid white backing. Knife edge white binding. Lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. Dye run noted on front and back from the red fabrics. There is a large stain in the right upper quadrant that has lightened with treatment but has not been removed. Also one in the left center setting block. Fabric intact with little wear visible. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried. Please review photos carefully and ask for more if needed.

Exact age unknown. Likely made circa 1930 based on fabrics used. From a private collection in St. Louis, MO.
