Vintage Red and Orange "Wheel of Fortune" Quilt

This free-spirited quilt has vivid patchwork and a quirky border, showing the cheerful creativity of its maker.

MATERIALS

Quilt is made in the "Wheel of Fortune" pattern, with a six-spoked wheel surrounded by trianges and a sawtooth border on three edges of the quilt. It is made of solid red, white, and orange cotton fabrics. It has machine-finished red fabric binding and white backing. Medium weight cotton batting. Hand quilted in white fabric.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. There are several areas of seam separation. Binding frayed throughout. The edges of the quilt are quite wonky and uneven, giving it a lot of quirky visual movement. Some tanning noted along top border. It has been gently hand washed and air dried.

Exact date of construction and maker unknown. Found in Missouri.
