Vintage Red and White Irish Chain Quilt

Available is a well loved red and white vintage quilt in a classic pattern. This quilt is the perfect choice for cuddling kids on the couch or creating an upcycled sewing project.

MATERIALS

Quilt is constructed in the single Irish chain pattern, with solid red blocks creating geometric chains across the quilt, set in white fabric. It is hand quilted with basic stitching in white thread. Lightweight cotton batting. Bound in white fabric with solid white backing. Machine pieced.

CONDITION

Fair vintage condition. Significant binding wear and loss along the edges. Scattered discolorations on the back. Front appears intact without holes or major seam separation. Batting has shifted and thinned throughout.

It has been gently hand washed and air dried.

AGE

Exact age unknown. Estimated date of construction circa 1930. Found in Kentucky. Maker unknown.

Measures 80" x 73". Note it was photographed on a king size bed.
