Vintage Reversible Brown Yellow Red and Green Bar Quilt, 84" x 72"

This is a wonderful vintage quilt, found in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It has a classic bar patchwork pattern in reversible colors, making this an easy transitional piece from autumn fall decor into the Christmas holiday season. It is unusual to find a quilt in both colorways!

MATERIALS 

One side is made of red, white, and green solid cotton fabrics in bar pattern. The other side has small prints on chrome yellow, red, and dark green grounds. It is hand quilted with white thread in a twisted rope pattern with white thread at 8-9 stitches per inch. It is machine bound on the long sides with red fabric and on the short ends with green fabric. It is machine pieced and has lightweight thin batting, possibly polyester.

CONDITION 

Overall color run and fading noted, especially in the green solid fabrics, and from the printed red "autumn" side bleeding through onto the white and green fabrics on the "Christmas" side. There is also mottled green color run noted on the chrome yellow fabric. There is one light brown stain on one white bar that remains. This quilt has been gently washed and air dried.
