Vintage Scrappy Seven Sisters Quilt with Purple Sashing
This well loved vintage quilt is in a desirable pattern and bright midcentury dress fabrics, making it the perfect blanket for cuddling.
MATERIALS
The quilt is constructed in the Seven Sisters or Seven Stars pattern, with octagonal blocks of seven six-point stars, set in purple sashing with white triangles at the corners. The long edges follow the edges of the blocks, and the two short edges are straight. The binding is in matching purple fabric. Medium weight with cotton binding. Hand quilted in white thread in hanging diamond grid pattern. Backing is solid white cotton.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition. There is fraying throughout on the binding, especially on the top and bottom edges. One block on top edge has exposed batting. Small stain on back. The quilt has been gently hand washed and air dried.
AGE
Exact date unknown. Based on fabric and technique, estimated date made is circa 1950. It came from a private quilt collection in Kansas City, MO.

Measures 82" x 64".
