Vintage Multicolored Nine Patch Cotton Twin Quilt with Sugar Sack Fabrics, c1940 - 87" x 64"

A cheerful, classic nine-patch twin quilt in retro floral and polka dot fabrics! MATERIALS 

The quilt is done in the classic nine patch pattern. It is set in white fabric. The nine patch blocks have a variety of bright retro fabrics with floral, polka dot, and plaid prints. It is hand quilted in a square grid pattern across the surface of the quilt with white thread and machine pieced. It is backed with white fabric, and sugar sack printing is visible in a few places. It is bound back to front and machine finished. It has lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION 

Overall very good vintage condition. It has been hand washed and air dried. There are two small areas of fabric loss with exposed batting. Some shifting and mild lumping of the batting felt. A few orange-brown spots on the backing that remained after washing.

AGE 

Exact age unknown. Based on fabrics and quilting, this quilt is estimated to have been made circa 1940.

SIZE 

87"x64" - perfect for a twin size bed, or folded on the foot as an accent blanket.
